Hello, my name is Liz Rea. That’s me in the pink facilitating my first meet and greet with Passion Pit last year. This year, I am the Public Relations Director for UPB. What does that mean to you? Well, if you “like” UPB on Facebook or follow UPB on Twitter, I am the person behind whatever you are seeing. I do a lot of other things as well, but for now, I would like to speak about UPB’s new blog.
Quite frankly, I was sick of our old blog. It was just one more marketing tool that told you to do this or come to that. What I want to do with this blog is let the students of JMU know how our organization works, how UPB is budgeted, who our members are, how we market over 200 events a year, and the cool perks of being in UPB (can anyone say free movies, meeting famous people, professional development…).
We will release a blog post every day, Monday-Thursday. These posts will cover marketing, behind-the-scenes looks, members of UPB, and random things you may not have known about our organization.
Whether you are another organization looking to improve your marketing strategies, a student looking to join UPB, a person who wants to know where UPB’s six figure budget goes, or you just need a good read, keep up with our blog. My personal goal is to be as transparent as possible and inform JMU students about everything UPB. As always, we are eager to hear feedback/comments/suggestions, so never hesitate to speak up!
On behalf of the 150 students in UPB, enjoy!
